Tapanuli Utara – A man with the initials PP (38) was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Tapanuli Police Resort (Taput), on suspicion of molesting his neighbor’s child, with the initials MSP and aged 11 years in North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra.

The Head of the Public Relations Section of the North Tapanuli Police Resort, Aiptu Walpon Baringbing, said that this case was revealed based on a report from the victim’s parents submitted to the North Tapanuli Police Resort on Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2024. Subsequently, investigations and examinations of witnesses were conducted.

“In the afternoon, around 4:00 PM. The perpetrator PP was successfully captured from his house,” said Walpon on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Walpon disclosed the chronology of the abuse experienced by the student who had just entered the fourth grade of elementary school. On that Sunday, around 11:00 AM, the perpetrator visited the victim’s house when there were no parents present.

“During the incident, PP came to the victim’s house to borrow a fishing rod. At that time, only the victim and his friend with the initials LP (11) were at home,” explained Walpon.

Then, PP asked to have coffee made. Meanwhile, LP was asked by the perpetrator to buy a shaving knife from the shop. “After LP went to buy the razor, PP met MSP in the kitchen and immediately hugged the victim from behind while squeezing the victim’s breasts,” said Walpon.

At that time, the victim struggled. However, the perpetrator persuaded the victim to keep quiet. Not long after, there was a voice calling from the side of the house and the perpetrator released the victim.

The perpetrator quickly went to the living room. Then, the victim still delivered the coffee ordered by the perpetrator. After that, the perpetrator hugged the victim forcibly.

“Not long after, his friend LP returned from the shop to buy the razor and the perpetrator immediately released the victim and left the victim’s house,” said Walpon.

Following the incident, the victim told their parents about what happened. Unhappy with PP’s actions, the parents made a report to the North Tapanuli Police Resort.

“After that, the victim told their parents about it and reported it to the North Tapanuli Police Resort. Subsequently, the Opsnal Team moved and arrested the perpetrator. During the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted to all his actions,” said Walpon.
