Introducing environmentally friendly mobility technology to the younger generation, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) collaborated with Jakarta Good Guide (JGG) through a series of activities called the Honda e:Technology City Tour.
Activities that involve touring the city of Jakarta while visiting historical places using Honda e:Technology products are conducted to introduce participants to the technology of Honda’s electrified vehicles.
“The Honda e:Technology activities are designed for the Millennial and Gen Z generations. As these generations are known to be the future users of electrification technology. Based on surveys, these generations enjoy traveling to explore local historical places over the weekend,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM.
Carrying the theme “Past Meet The Future,” the concept of Past is represented by historical places, while the concept of Future is represented by the offered environmentally friendly technology.
“Created to preserve the environment for enjoyment by future generations, we believe that this activity will be an attractive historical location choice because it combines history, technology, and culinary experiences in an environmentally friendly concept. We also hope that this event can be a good means to introduce Honda’s electrification, especially because it is aimed at young people who will be the users of this technology in the future,” he added.
The Honda e:Technology City Tour activity involves four Honda electric cars, including two units of Honda e, one unit of the All New Honda Accord RS e:HEV, and one unit of the All New Honda CR-V RS e:HEV.
“The pure electric Honda e is not sold in Indonesia. However, we want to introduce this technology to the younger generation, in line with our global mission where 100% of our cars will be electric by 2040. As for the All New Honda Accord RS e:HEV and CR-V RS e:HEV, these hybrid cars are environmentally friendly, which is why we use them in the Honda e:Technology City Tour activities. As known, our hybrid cars use electric motors heavily within the city,” said Billy.
During the city tour activities to learn about historical places and cuisine in Jakarta, participants have the opportunity to try all Honda electric cars.
“All participants can experience the Honda electric cars provided. There will be a switch in the middle so that participants can experience the technology of each car. So participants will not only be entertained, healed, but also gain knowledge,” said Yulian Karfili, Communication Strategy Sub-Division of PT HPM.
Throughout the activity of exploring historical places in Jakarta, the Honda N-Van EV Prototype and Honda LiB-AID E500 are also available for exploration by participants.
As part of the research, Honda has conducted road tests using the Honda N-Van Prototype in collaboration with Pertamina, with a total distance of 8,375 km covering the Jakarta, Bekasi, Cikarang, and Bandung areas.
This model is also used as a logistics delivery vehicle for spare parts to various Honda dealers in the Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, and Cibubur areas, with a total distance traveled of 2,034 km.
Honda has also collaborated with the University of Indonesia by providing the Honda e as a means of transportation on campus, which has been tried by more than 1,300 people over a period of 6 months.
