PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia (Bridgestone Indonesia) has introduced the latest series of Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tires.
But this tire has a new size, and is suitable for use by Wuling electric car users who need a substitution tire.
Therefore, the new Bridgestone tire was introduced to the Wuling Electric Vehicle Indonesia (WEVI) electric car community at the “EV Community Test Drive” event at the Proving Ground (PG) Bridgestone Indonesia in Karawang, West Java on Sunday (28/1/2024) ago.
The activity that coincides with International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day which is commemorated every January 28 was attended by 80 Wuling electrification vehicles of WEVI members along with their families.
In addition to being introduced, the participants also had the opportunity to directly experience the advantages of the Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tires attached to three battery-based electric cars (BEV), Wuling Air EV Long Range type.
“This activity is also a real manifestation of our willingness to listen to input from our product users. We are proud that the WEVI community members who are present are satisfied and happy to experience this new tire directly,” said Masaki Abe, Marketing Director of Bridgestone Indonesia.
Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 R12 Tires for Wuling Air EV
This new tire is the 12-inch Ecopia EP150 which is generally intended for small electric vehicles such as the Wuling Air EV.
“The 12-inch Ecopia EP150 size is the latest size of the Ecopia EP150. This tire is also the right choice for users of city car-type electric cars who use mini-sized tires,” explained Masaki Abe.
Even though it is included in the Ecopia EP150 category, this tire is specially formulated to emphasize driving efficiency while still maintaining superior quality with excellent durability.
Using Nano Pro-Tech Technology
Furthermore, Masaki Abe explained that the latest Bridgestone tire was developed using Bridgestone’s exclusive tire technology.
The use of Nano Pro-Tech compounds is claimed to strengthen the bond between silica and polymer to increase the contact area, resulting in reduced heat and energy loss, providing the best performance in wet conditions and better braking distance.
For its variants, this 12-inch Ecopia EP150 comes in sizes 155/80 R12 and 175/70 R12, each sold at a retail price on one e-commerce site for Rp 545 thousand and Rp 480 thousand for one tire.
WEVI Community Also Invited to See the Bridgestone Tire Production Process
In addition to directly seeing and experiencing the 12-inch Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tires, the participants from the WEVI community were also given the opportunity to learn a small part of the Bridgestone tire production process at the Karawang factory.

WEVI (Wuling Electric Vehicle Indonesia) is an official community established on November 26, 2022 under the auspices of SGMW (Wuling Indonesia), which is based on family, providing information, and education to Wuling EV users in Indonesia.
WEVI, which was established since November 2022, has a total of 1,012 members scattered throughout Indonesia, and for the Jabodetabek region, it has around 600 members.
