President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, also known as Jokowi, made his way to Bandung, West Java, on a Whoosh high-speed train along with members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. The President arrived at the station at 7:45 p.m., donning a cream-colored ensemble and a navy blue cap, blending in with other passengers as he scanned his boarding card at the ticket gate and ascended the escalator to the platform.
His presence stirred surprise and excitement among the commuters, with Prabowo waving to onlookers and interacting warmly with the crowd on his way to the platform. Prior to boarding the train, he took the time to take photos with the Whoosh crew. At 8:00 p.m., the high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung.
President Jokowi is slated to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga) in Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. He will be delivering the keynote speech at the event, alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
With the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 is set to be a crucial strategic platform at both the national and international levels.
