President Joko Widodo visited Sentosa Funeral Home at RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, to pay his final respects to the late Kwik Kian Gie on Wednesday. Upon arrival, he was greeted by the family of the deceased before paying his respects in front of the casket. Kwik Kian Gie, a well-known economist and national figure, passed away at the age of 90 on Monday evening. President Joko Widodo praised Kwik for his dedication to promoting Pancasila-based economics and his contributions to the nation. He expressed his gratitude for Kwik’s guidance and advice over the years, emphasizing the close bond they shared. Despite his failing health, Kwik continued to stay engaged and offer input to the President until his final days. President Joko Widodo concluded by acknowledging Indonesia’s loss of one of its esteemed figures and expressing his gratitude for Kwik’s wisdom and dedication to the country’s development.
