Barry Beagen, Co-Founder of Jagat, publicly apologized after the recent controversy surrounding the ‘Coin Hunt’ feature on the platform. Following discussions with the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Jagat will be modifying the Coin Hunt feature to ‘Misi Jagat’ to encourage users to contribute positively to public spaces and facilities. During this transition period, the coin hunting feature will be temporarily removed from the application.

The new ‘Misi Jagat’ initiative aims to promote active participation in improving public spaces, with plans to establish an official channel for authorities and the public to report any damages caused by the previous ‘Coin Hunt’ activities. With over 1 million active users in Indonesia and 200 thousand new users daily, Jagat believes that ‘Misi Jagat’ will enhance the quality of public spaces, especially through the active involvement of the younger generation.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital welcomes Jagat’s commitment to transforming the Coin Hunt feature into ‘Misi Jagat’, as the previous activity had negative impacts and caused unrest in society. Deputy Minister Angga Rak Prabowo expressed support for Jagat’s development towards productivity, education, and beneficial services for the community. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to supporting digital platform innovations in Indonesia, as long as they operate within the established regulations and guidelines.
