President Prabowo Subianto is committed to advancing the role of Indonesian scientists on the global stage, as emphasized by Deputy for Dissemination and Media Affairs at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Noudhy Valdryno. The vision includes greater collaboration between Indonesian researchers and international scientists to illuminate Indonesia’s path toward becoming a developed nation. President Prabowo encourages scientists to be more present in the public sphere, highlighting their strategic importance in achieving the administration’s ambitious target of 8 percent economic growth over the next five years. This vision aligns with the Asta Cita, particularly focusing on human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievement, gender equality, and the empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Supporting this focus on scientific advancement, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is hosting the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) from August 7 to 9 at Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), West Java. The PCO applauds the convention as a crucial platform to bring together the nation’s top scientific minds. With the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” KSTI 2025 serves as a collaborative forum to accelerate Indonesia’s transformation into a high-value-added industrial economy by linking academia, industry, government, media, and civil society. Minister Brian Yuliarto described KSTI as a strategic event that has attracted more than 2,000 scientists from across the country.
