President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, recently visited Brazil, which brought joy to the Indonesian diaspora in the country. Isaque Hattu, Chair of the Indonesian Diaspora in São Paulo, was present to welcome the President with great enthusiasm. Hattu, known for his active role in supporting the Indonesian community in Brazil, expressed his delight in welcoming President Prabowo and his delegation. Despite the small number of the Indonesian diaspora in Brazil, Hattu emphasized the strong sense of solidarity they share as they welcomed their country’s leader. During their meeting, Hattu had the opportunity to share his family background with Prabowo, mentioning his parents’ origins from Maluku and Kupang. The President responded warmly to Hattu’s story, even recognizing the name of an Indonesian figure who had been sent to Brazil in the past. As their meeting concluded, Hattu expressed his hopes for strengthened ties between Indonesia and Brazil through cultural exchange and grassroots engagement, aiming to enhance mutual understanding between the two nations.
