President Prabowo Subianto recently convened a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister of KKP Didit Herdiawan to discuss the unauthorized construction of sea fences in Tangerang, Banten Province. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono mentioned that the construction did not have the required permits, contravening the regulations outlined in the Job Creation Law. Consequently, the construction has been sealed pending a thorough investigation to determine its ownership and legality. President Prabowo has directed for a comprehensive legal review of the situation, in collaboration with entities such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure adherence to legal processes and prevent potential negative consequences like erosion. This proactive stance underscores the government’s dedication to enforcing rules and safeguarding marine resources.
